After a brief hibernation, the Belleville Park Pages are back for 2014 with Page 14. Within the paper that these jewelled fingers clasp are 8 pieces of writing by authors from 4 different countries. Grab a page from our website, or check out our stockists and see if there’s one in your city. Let’s read some words. http://www.bellevilleparkpages.com/#buy
‘Wax on wax on wax’. We’re going to be printing, folding and packaging Page 14 over the course of the next few days. To rouse your appetites, here’s a little preview picture of it coming together. Lines on lines on lines. 2014 – hey.
It’s a really happy thing that the Poetry Library at the Southbank Centre have asked to stock all 13 issues and all upcoming Pages. It’s a great institution at the creative hub that is the Southbank Centre. It has over 200,000 items of poetry magazines, books and pamphlets, whilst putting on a plethora of frequent events. And now we’re one of them. Holla.
So, we’re back to work. A week today the fourteenth Page, and first of the Winter Subscription, will be released. We’re excited to get back to consistently painful paper cuts, smudging ink and some really, really good writing. Here’s a liddle photo of a group of us folding in the Parisian Summer heat. Ah. How we’ve all grown up! Ah.
The honestly wonderful people at Paris Lit Up are looking for submissions for Issue no.2 of their Magazine. Paris Lit Up and Spoken Word in Paris had a huge influence in the creation of the Pages. Their weekly Spoken Word events, and the people who perform and host them, are a big part of what the Pages are born from. Hit them up.
On Monday 20th January we will release the first Page (Page 14 – handy) of 2014. Also, the Winter Subscription is now available to purchase: for £16 you get all six shivering Issues delivered straight to your door and into your mittens. You may notice that we’ve changed the prices from Euros to Pounds. As we don’t live in Europe anymore, it was becoming very confusing to constantly convert back and forth. It also works out as cheaper for a lot of you. We’re excited to get back to printing work from around the world in 2014 – and we hope you’re excited to read it. http://www.bellevilleparkpages.com/#subscriptions
Shortly after folding the first Page 13 just over a week ago, we discovered a spelling mistake in the Editors’ Note. Oh the effing irony. We shot it right in the error and it spurted paper-blood right out from its punctuation. We then had to go and print off a new batch, and that’s the one you’ve been reading. Here’s the deaded Page, billowing guts everywhere.
